Are the Tips on Your Wrought Iron and Aluminum Fence Pointy and Sharp?
We get a lot of questions on if the tips on our fence are pointy and sharp. The tips are called finials (fin-e-alls) and our standard ones are not pointy and sharp. Our iron fence finials are solid cast iron and the aluminum fence finials are solid cast aluminum. The castings are rounded and have a safety ball on the top. This is to ensure that if you fall over on the fence, it will not impale you. It might not be a fun experience, but it won't leave you poked full of holes either. We do this as a safety measure and to meet code in many municipalities. I included a close up photo of our standard iron finials below. Our aluminum one is molded similiarly.
But wait you say, I want someone trying to climb my fence to be poked full of holes! Don't you offer sharp or pointy finials? Yes, we do!
